Chester Race Week is one of those events you always want to put on your calendar. With a long history and competitive classes, sailors flock to small town Chester for the four-day racing spectacle; which is of course, accompanied by lively post racing socials, in true East coast style.
Over 140 boats are expected to race at Chester this year across the three courses and eight fleets. Local North Sails rep and Nova Scotia native, Drew Mitchell, glows, “Chester Race Week is by far my favorite regatta of the year. Between the racing, sailors and the social events in a historic seaside community, you really can’t beat it. I race in the Bluenose fleet, which is a classic 22′ sloop designed off the lines off the famous Bluenose Schooner. The fleet’s numbers and skill has grown significantly over the last 10 years with 30+ boats on the line for the last few Race Weeks.
Chester Race Week runs August 13-17and the event promises to be another one for the history books.
