Sail Canada is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified officials for lead race management and judge positions for the Sailing event at the 2025 Games.
The sailing event will be in August 2025, hosted by the Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club.
The application deadline is May 15th for the Principal Race officer and Chief Judge roles. The application deadline for other leadership roles is August 15th
Requirements (from Sail Canada Championships)
Chief Judge (1): Sail Canada International Judge certification.
Judge (6): Sail Canada National Judge certification or higher.
Principal Race Officer: will lead the overall race management team, liaise with the organizing authority on event documentation and rules, especially the Notice of Race, lead the writing of the Sailing Instructions, liaise with Canada Summer Games throughout the event (this includes close liaison with the the Technical Delegate, the Venue Lead as both Field of Play and Venue volunteers), manage the overall conduct of the event (on the water), and hold Sail Canada National Race Officer certification or higher.
Race Officers: will lead a circle race management team at the test event (date tbd), lead a circle race management team at the Canada Summer Games, hold Sail Canada Regional Race Officer certification or higher, and demonstrate a willingness to be mentored leading up to and throughout the event.
Selected Deputy Race Officers: will provide mentorship to the circle course Race Officer (RO) up to and during the Canada Summer Games, and hold Sail Canada National Race Officer certification or higher.
Sail Canada, in partnership with the Canada Games Council, will be diligent in building capacity for sailing event delivery in the Atlantic region of Canada. The positions will be appointed based on qualifications and experience.

-CV outlining experiences held relative to the role(s)
-Your availability to be part a test event in 2024
