Athlete Bio

Antonia found her passion for sailing as a teenager while racing laser radials on the North American circuit. There, she made lifelong friends and fell in love with the sport. After youth sailing, Antonia decided to use her sailing knowledge to teach instead. It was not long before she had to get back in the boat because she missed it too much.

Antonia has a Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University and has aspirations to go to medical school. Before she does so, she is determined to medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with her sister.

In the Fall 2021, they won the bronze medal at the 2021 49er FX European Championships held in Greece, then took the 6th spot at the 2021 49er FX Sailing World Championships in Oman, posting the best Canadian performance ever at this competition that has been held since 2013.

At their first Olympic Games in Paris in 2024, they recorded Canada’s best-ever Olympic performance in 49erFX, an event which has been part of the Games program since Rio 2016, with an 11th-place finish.

Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance won the 2022 Rolex Sailors of the Year Award.
