Andrew started sailing at the age of eight in the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club summer camps and began to love sailing. He soon found out about racing and joined a race team. Andrew has been racing for seven years, he started sailing in 2010 on the North Shore Sailing Team. He started in the Opti class and began to enjoy the competitive side of the sport. When he was thirteen he moved into the 29er class with his brother at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. They spent many cold days on the water in Vancouver training hard. Andrew has competed in two ISAF Youth World Championships and three 29er World Championships. In August of 2016 Andrew and his brother transitioned into the 49er FX. They trained and competed in their first regatta CORK OCR and finished second. Andrew then moved into the 49er in February and continues to train in it.
