Former National Team member and Atmospheric Physics Graduate Maura Dewey will present a webinar Tuesday, April 8, starting at 7:30pm (Kingston time): “Understanding Weather Modeling”. Through the webinar, Maura will present information on wind and sea breeze types, effects of the shore, coastline and mountains, as well as weather preparation leading up to and during a regatta.
Maura balances her passion for meteorology and sailing as she holds a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Victoria and is currently a PhD candidate at Stockholm University. Maura was also a member of the Concord Pacific Racing team at last year’s Puig Women’s America’s Cup. She regularly holds weather seminars for sailors and provides meteorological consulting for major competitions.
