Originating in 1927 as a three day, 10 boat event the Bacardi Cup has become a key stop on the international Star Class circuit. Hosted by the Coral Reef Yacht Club this year’s event has 85 entries representing 16 nations. After a short delay on land the fleet embarked on the first race of the event. A gentle sea-breeze materialised providing 5-7 knots of wind on a beautiful Miami afternoon. After a general recall the fleet was away under a Black flag.
