Event registration is now open for Sports Day in Canada!
We need your help in spreading the word now!
The 2nd annual Sports Day in Canada is quickly approaching, and ParticipACTION, True Sport, and CBC Sports want your organization to help lead the charge in telling Canada’s sporting world all about it.
Sports Day in Canada, on Saturday, September 17, 2011, is a national celebration of sport, from grassroots to high-performance levels, in communities across the country.
Sports Day in Canada is presented by CBC Sports, ParticipACTION and True Sport and its creation was guided by a committee of national sporting organizations and their networks of coaches, athletes and enthusiasts across the country. It’s an opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate the power of sport to build community, fortify our national spirit and facilitate healthy, active living. By promoting involvement in Sports Day in Canada to your member organizations you will be encouraging the coming together of over 1.5 million Canadians to celebrate the positive power of sport. From coast to coast, in small towns and big cities, sport will be unifying the nation in the week leading up to and including September 17.
Event registration is now open for Sports Day in Canada; local events, planned for September 17th, and the week prior, can be registered by visiting the website at cbcsports.ca/sportsday. We need your help in spreading the word now!
Promotional Tools
To help you reach out to your member organizations, we have enclosed two promotional tools;
  • a web banner that is ready to be placed on your organization’s website to promote event registration
  • a detailed memo outlining what Sports Day in Canada is all about, how to get involved, and what the CBC broadcast will entail
You might want to point out that CBC is looking for local, grassroots events that will capture the imagination of Canadians - showcasing the range of ways we all celebrate sport - and that early event registrants will increase their chances of being featured on the CBC Sports Day in Canada television broadcast, September 17th, as part of the pre-promotion in the weeks leading up to the broadcast, on the Sports Day in Canada website, or in the local media.
Stay tuned –we’ll be bringing you more news on Sports Day in Canada in the days and weeks to come. Watch for the launch of a special Sports Day in Canada mobile application that will allow participants to check into events on the fly and upload event pictures, videos and stories to share with the rest of Canada.
Thank you for showing your support of Sports Day in Canada, the biggest celebration of sport at all levels that this nation has ever seen.To get in the game, go to cbcsports.ca/sportsday.
