It was a solid final day with good winds at the 2.4 US National Championships in Noroton Ct. The Canadians swept the podium with Allan Leibel heading the pack, Paul Tingley in second and Bruce Millar in third. It was great to see such excellent racing from our Canadian guys.

Filling out the top 5 Marc Leblanc was 4th and John Ruf was 5th.

Noroton is an challenging place to sail with significant current but to make up for it they have one of the best race committee’s on the circuit, with many of them running many World championships.

One local Noroton resident was a regular out watching the racing and exchanging stories after the racing was Canada’s own Bruce Kirby (designer of the Laser, Sonar) he was great support to our sailors.

Next event on the calendar for the 2.4 sailors will be the Americas regatta in Florida in December. In the meantime training camps are scheduled for the coming months.
