The US Sailing Yacht Club Summit took place in Chicago, Illinois, April 2-3, 2011. Canadians from Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal were at the inaugural event, as were CYA President Gerry Giffin and CYA Executive Director Paddy Boyd. The 2 day event was delivered to service Sailing and Yacht Clubs and partner organizations to U.S. Sailing.
Pleased to have been in attendance, Giffin stated, “The first US Sailing Yacht Club Summit was a great success. The future our sport is dependent on the future success of our member clubs and this event provided insights, ideas, best practices and information of value, not just for US clubs, but our member clubs in Canada too. The recaps and presentations are worth reviewing and I know from my conversations with the presenting clubs that they would be more than willing to entertain inquiries from Canadian clubs looking to network with them regarding the challenges we all face in North America”
All in attendance reported valuable ‘take-aways’ from the sessions as moderated by US Sailing President Gary Jobson and many expert panellists in breakout sessions.
Recaps of the sessions may be found here on US Sailing’s YC Summit Session Recaps and Presentations page.
