Term: Fall 2012 (September-October), Spring 2012 (March-June) & Summer 2012 (July-August).
Position begins August 27 2012
Location: RPSA, Port Moody, BC
Rocky Point Sailing Association is a non-profit association, committed to teaching the joys of sailing to people of all ages. The race team coach will work approximately 8- 20 hours per week during the Fall & Spring and be a full-time coach during the summer. Sailors will be training in the Optimist and Laser (4.7, Radial & Full Rig).
Responsibilities:
- Manage & assign equipment and boats
- Basic boat repair
- Organize and run practices
- Organize regatta participation
- Develop competitive sailors via the long term athlete development plan
Required Skills and Experience:
- CYA certified CANsail instructor
- Certified in Standard or Emergency First-Aid
- Certified in Boat Safety
- Valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card
- Minimum Bronze V certification or equivalent
- Ability to problem solve
- Good time management and communication skills
- Racing and regatta experience
