AQVA offers recreational, educational and competitive sailing experiences to children and adults with a physical disability. The manager supports AQVA’s activities by running on-site operations at Pointe Claire Yacht Club (PCYC). The manager reports primarily to the Operations Team Leader, and also coordinates with other team leaders as required. Specific areas of responsibility include:
· Plan, coordinate and supervise the activities
· Oversee volunteer training & activities
· Ensure that maintenance and repairs are carried out on all boats and equipment
· Oversee quality control and safety issues
· Act as liaison with PCYC manager
· Financial management of activities (bank deposits, etc.)
· Act as liaison with other disabled sailing associations
· Specific activities related to the Coupe du Québec regatta
· Special event planning
· Ensure follow-up on decisions made by board
· Handle public and media relations
· Attend board meetings if requested
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Previous experience in an able sail/disabled sailing program as instructor and/or manager
- Possess a current CYA Green or Blue instructor level certification & completed management module
- Possess First Aid certification & Pleasure Craft operators certificate
- Must be able to speak & write both English & French
- Must be available some evenings and weekends
