Bio:
I grew up in Germany and started my sailing career in an Opti when I was 6 years old. When I was 12, I decided to go double-handed, so I switched to a Teenie, which is a mini version of a 420 and is meant for Opti-sized kids. After moving to Canada in 1997, I switched to the Laser II even though my crew and I had a combined weight of 230 pounds. Once I grew out of the youth circuit, I wanted to qualify for the national team in the Europe, which was a tough switch. I qualified in 2004 and sailed the european circuit for 2 summers. When the Europe was replaced by the Laser Radial, I decided to take a break from sailing for a while and instead focus on my engineering degree. I missed sailing so much that I bought a radial and started training again in 2007. My long term goals for now are to improve my results in the big events and to go to the Olympics in 2012.
