Request for Proposals ~ Coach - 2012 Canadian Youth World Sailing Team
Deadline to submit ~ December 16th, 2011
The CYA is now accepting Proposals from qualified individuals wishing to fill the role of Coach to the 2012 Canadian Youth World Sailing Team (Youth World Coach). The 2012 ISAF Youth World Sailing Championships is taking place in Dublin, Ireland.
The ideal candidate will be a certified NCCP Level 3 Coach with significant experience in high performance international sailboat racing in the Olympic or Olympic-development classes. Minimum requirements are current Coach Registration with CYA, including all CYA Coach Prerequisites. A valid passport is required; multilingualism is an asset, but not required.
The Canadian Youth World Coach is responsible for:
Overseeing on-water and on-land training and preparations and provide travel guidance for some or all of the athletes on the 2012 Canadian Youth World Sailing Team (YWT) from the period of hiring through to the completion of the event; Accept input and communicate as required with CYA staff and other Coach(es) to YWT; provide written and pictorial reports to CYA office; Carry out leadership, coaching and chaperone duties to athletes on team while away from home at the event; Abide by the CYA Coaches Code of Conduct.The ‘Youth World Coach’ is financially supported for their return travel expense to the event site, the registration fees for the event, and a one-time honorarium.
Individuals wishing to submit a proposal should provide the following:
Coaching or sailing CV; Any copies of acquired certifications and prerequisites Written proposal outlining:
How the ideal candidate’s details (above) are fulfilled; Intentions to fulfill the Youth World Coach responsibilities - as outlined above; Intentions to utilize the experience in an overall personal development plan, as well as plans to lead sharing session(s) for the benefit of developing coaches in the home-region; Any supporting references – written & /or listed with contact information.Submit Proposal with CV to CYA office no later than December 16th, 2011.
