Have you heard about the amazing journey that the Canadian Wildlife Federation is undertaking as part of its Sail for Wildlife program? CWF past-president Dr. Yves Jean, in his 38-foot sailboat Sarava, is following the migration path of the humpback whale, from the warm tropical waters of the Dominican Republic all the way down to the whales’ summer feeding grounds off the coast of Eastern Canada. Along the way, he will be talking to experts about important economic, conservation and wildlife issues related to the whales and the other species that make their homes in these waters.

CWF is a not for profit charity dedicated to conservation and education. Dr. Jean invites all sailors on the waters to join him in this journey! Check out the interactive map at SailforWildlife.ca/whale to see where he is located today, and even stop by and say hello — or go out on your own Sail for Wildlife journey and share your experiences and wildlife sightings on the Sail for Wildlife Facebook page.

Sincerely,

Luba Mycio-Mommers, Ph.D.,
Director of Education
