Message Three

Hello friends of Canadian Sport and Physical Activity,

With the election just days away, you still have time to make an impact and take action for Sport and Physical activity during the
It’s more than a Game” election campaign.

It is your engagement with local candidates that help our political representatives to stay on top of the sport and physical activity file.  Ask them a question. Write them a letter. Draft an op ed for your local paper.  All the tools are on our website and we're here to help if you need a hand!

Here are some highlights so far:

- We have over 65 of the 308 ridings covered by active campaigners!

- Way to go Malcolm Sutherland of Thunder Bay who wrote this letter to the Editor in his local newspaper!

- Check out these organizations that have posted the campaign icons on their site.  Be sure to let us know if you have done the same!  The Commonwealth Games of Canada and Right To Play (second slider) have even created their own unique look to the campaign!

- Watch Vancouver Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery talk about what he would do if he were Prime Minister here…

To highlight the campaign even further, we will be holding a press conference tomorrow in Ottawa at 2pmET.  Athletes and experts from the sport and physical activity community will speak about the campaign messages to the media.  Click here for the media advisory.

Be sure to sign up on the website and use our resources to tell your local candidates why Sport and Physical Activity matter to you and your community!  And keep spreading the word about the campaign through your networks, on your website and using social media!  Don’t forget to sign the “Canadians in favor of a National Sport and Physical Activity Strategy” petition too!

Keep up the great effort everyone!  Let's continue our efforts in riding after riding across Canada until voting day!

Because it’s more than a game,

Erin Kasungu and Chris Jones
