Located on the shores of Lake Ontario in downtown Kingston, Ontario, the Kingston Yacht Club has been servicing the sailing community since 1896 and is now accepting applications for a dynamic and well organized multi-tasker who is keen to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful applicant will play a key role in the overall operation of the club. The Yard Steward will be responsible for managing and maintaining the club’s harbour, gas dock and property in general, and as well, will be required to interact regularly with club members, responding to concerns and special requests in a diligent, pleasant and professional manner. The Yard Steward will supervise and schedule a small staff during the summer season. Ability to work a varied schedule within the scope of the club’s calendar is a definite requirement of the position. Experience in the club industry, sailing and/or knowledge of computer systems will be considered assets. As well, experience with such trades/professions as boson, welding, carpentry, electrical, mechanics, cash reconciliation and scuba diving will all be considered assets.
